At SEND Assist, we want you to feel confident that we will:
- Treat your information and that of your child, in line with data protection, confidentiality, and compliance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Provide information and advice that is independent, impartial and is based in law.
- Safeguard individuals and uphold our responsibilities to promote children and young people's welfare and act on any safety concerns.
- Ensure there is a route for you to record a compliment or complaint about SEND Assist.

Confidentiality
Confidentiality ensures that your child's personal and sensitive information is handled with care and only shared with your consent.
This policy protects your privacy and ensures that information is used responsibly within the SEND Assist.

The importance of independence and impartiality
SEND Assist is an independent and impartial service. We will not make decisions for you but enable you to make informed decisions based on accurate information and advice, that is without bias, and in best interests.
If advocacy is provided this will be based on yours or your child/young person's views and will be based in law. Advocacy does not reflect any views that the advocate may hold.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding policies are paramount to protect children and young people with SEND from harm and ensure their welfare.
Disclosure and Barring Service certificate is up to date & can be shown on request.

How to raise a complaint
